"We couldn’t have asked for better care."

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Hospital at Home Rosaburn House

(as a relative),

My mum was discharged from hospital to Rosaburn House care home at the start of April. We only had two weeks with her there before she passed away but NHS Lanarkshire did all they could to discharge her to the care home to allow her to pass away in a non clinical environment with her own things around her.  All the staff were fantastic.  We viewed the home whilst mum was in hospital and David answered all our questions comfortably and reassured us that mum would be well looked after.  We couldn’t have asked for better care.

All staff took time to speak with us and treat mum like the Queen she was to us.  Her oral hygiene was so important to her and us and her mouth and teeth were always fresh.  She was on bed care the two weeks she was in and her nightwear always fresh and clean and her face cream and hand cream always applied.  Her final days were precious to us and again the staff ensured mum was always freshened up and looked after the family so well.  The nurses on day and night shift were amazing and kept us fully informed at all times.   We have nothing but praise for Rosaburn and the team who work so hard.

Dear Gillymeg,

Firstly please accept our condolences for your loss, I loved to see that you described your Mum as 'the Queen' she was to you and your family as our mums certainly are just that!

It was so considerate for you to take the time to share your experiences in what was a difficult and emotional time for you and your family.

We all work very closely together between the Lanarkshire Care Homes and the NHS services to try to provide a person centered and homely care for all.

Getting to her care home swiftly, provided you all with a comforting environment with care and compassion and I'm truly delighted for your mum's final days together with family.

As the Rosaburn home manager cannot currently access Care Opinion to put on a response, we have let them know of your kind words to pass onto all the staff.

With kind wishes

Gwen
