"Great ward care"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I recently had to spend a few nights in ward 212 in ARI, following a fall  and a few fractured vertebrae.

What a great ward, and wonderful staff!

I was on bed rest for a while, so really dependent on the staff for most things.  Which is a really vulnerable and awkward position to be in, when you've never experienced it before.  But the staff were amazing.  I can't recall everyone's names - I met quite a few people whilst I was in - but everyone was fantastic.  So kind and compassionate.  A lot of my care was from the student nurses and support workers.  All treated me so well.

I remember a few of the nurses names - Jill, Michael and Roxy - the nurses were all fantastic.  Always happy to help, and always smiling and cheerful.  Jane, the physio was amazing too.

My consultant, Mr Baliga was also a credit to the department - very professional, very kind, listened, and communicated with empathy.  He is also lucky to have a great team of junior doctors who looked after me so well.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Pleased to report I'm making a steady recovery at home, thanks to you all.
