"Super heros"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Last weekend I had a fall while carrying my sleeping daughter to bed.

I was stuck on the floor for a while, and when I finally managed to crawl into bed, I found myself stuck in the bed.

I called 999 for help, and got a quick call back from a paramedic practitioner, before an ambulance was sent out.

The two paramedics that quickly arrived - Louise and Jason- were just amazing. They were so thorough, so kind and so professional.  I was feeling quite worried about my back (turned out I had broken a few vertebrae) and my mind was already thinking ahead about how I would look after the kids, the dog, work and everything else that races through your mind in these situations.

But I couldn't fault the care I received.  I was instantly put at ease, just by having two such wonderful professionals at hand and looking after me.  I can't thank you both enough! They even took time to find me in the Emergency Department later in the day to see how I was getting on.  A credit to the service!

I know the SAS has been under a lot of pressure recently - and that must take a toll on the staff - but it's great to see that they are still firmly focussed on patient care and looking after people!

Glad to report that I'm making a steady recovery.

Dear Benkp36

Thankyou for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to hear that you required the use of our Services. I hope that you are feeling better and I am so pleased to read that your making a steady recovery.

It is so kind of you to say these wonderful things about our staff and I would be more than happy to ensure that your kind words get passed on to them. In order to do this I would just need a few details. If you want this to happen would you be able to email sas.feedback@nhs.scot and include your name as well as the date/time and location that we attended you? This would allow us to locate the call and identify the staff. If you would also be so kind as to include your CareOpinion username to allow the members of my team to trace back to this feedback.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
