Today I had a Cytosponge procedure at the Medical Day Bed Unit in St John's Hospital, Livingston, West Lothian. I had never experienced this procedure before and was extremely apprehensive. My nurse, David, was wonderful. Very reassuring & great sense of humour which put me at ease. The whole experience was much better than I had anticipated and so much easier than my previous endoscopies.
Several hours later I have very little pain & can eat & drink normally. If you are offered this diagnostic test do not hesitate & with the encouragement of a great nurse you won't regret having it done.
