"Me and my care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was admitted to A & E in University Hospital Wishaw at the beginning of the week, and the staff were quick on the job to help me. I felt welcomed, relaxed, and reassured; I was in the right place. The staff were really friendly all doing their part. I was put on oxygen, and had blood taken, x-ray, IV and antibiotics within 90 minutes of arriving. I could see there were challenging patients within the department, the staff worked very hard to make sure we were all cared for. A big thanks to Amy, Klara, Nikki, Thea, and the nurse in charge Janice. I can't thank them enough for what they have done as it can be a scary place. Although they have so many other people in their care, these lovely ladies regularly checked in on me and made sure I was okay or if I needed anything. Also, I'd like to say thanks to the volunteer worker who made sure I had water and tea to drink, a friendly man.

Hi Donna4646

Thank you for sharing your experience of the A & E department within University Hospital Wishaw you recently attended for treatment.

Hospitals can be a scary place but I am happy our staff were able to put you at ease and allay any fears you may have had.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with Amy, Klara, Nikki, Thea, and Janice not forgetting our volunteer who ensured you were supplied with refreshments.

I hope you are on the road to recovery.

Best wishes

Jean
