"Rude receptionist at Covid-19 booster clinic"

About: NHS Fife / COVID-19 Vaccination Service

(as a service user),

We attended for a Covid-19 spring booster at Blackfriars Hospital. Vaccination team were pleasant, very efficient and professional.

Unfortunately it was spoiled by a receptionist who signed my wife and I in.  They were rude and seemed only interested in themselves. The assistant/nurse who took us through to the vaccination room acknowledged that we were not the only people they had been rude to.

We filled in a complaint card and I just wanted to make sure that our observations did not go unnoticed! hence this posting.

Good Morning Craigurrard

Thank you for posting about your poor experience. I can only apologise for the way in which you were treated. This is not something that we expect from our staff. Can I just check are you referring to St Andrews Community hospital?

I will ensure that this matter is addressed and the member of staff is spoken to and made aware of your complaint.

Once again thank you for highlighting this to us.

Kind regards

Karen

Update posted by Craigurrard (a service user)

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it was St Andrews Community Hospital. I was attempting to inform the receptionist that I had previously telephoned to change my appointment time when they cut across my conversation and more or less told me to get out of their sight. My wife received the same treatment.

I might add that some reception staff downstairs seemed not much better. Such a shame when the nurses at the coal face are so pleasant and hard working.

Kind regards,

Craigurrard
