"Gratitude for hard-working Ward 43 staff"

I have been a patient in ward 43 three times in the last 12 months for major surgeries.

I wanted to ensure that my gratitude to the staff was conveyed as I understand how hard the job is. I particularly wanted to thank Nicole (bank nurse who was there on all of my admissions) for going beyond the call of duty even staying on more than an hour after a night shift to help me shower. Elaine for her care, nothing was a trouble and dry wit keeping me laughing and Amy for being so attentive. And Lewis for the hot water and drinks always with a smile. There were too many to thank but these people stood out.

I found it interesting that everyone knew how to complain yet no one knew how I could pay a compliment. It is very easy to find fault and I feel the focus should be on “what does even better look like” and on positive motivation for what is otherwise a thankless job.

I don’t know how they do it. They are a credit to the hospital and I really think they deserve some recognition for their efforts.
