We came in a couple of nights ago. Daisy Hill wouldn’t be the closest hospital to myself and my partner; in fact Craigavon is actually only 5 minutes away from our home.
We had phoned Craigavon with some concerns and they told us that we would need to go to Daisy Hill instead, as they were so busy, I think. We weren’t too worried about this change of hospital as we have heard many good and reassuring things about Daisy Hill’s Maternity ward.
When we came in, I was brought up to the ward and I was then induced and brought down to the delivery suite.
As this is my first pregnancy I didn’t know what to expect, but the midwives were absolutely brilliant! What was also a bonus for me, was that I was the only patient in the delivery suite at the time, and so I had everyone’s attention and this really reassured me and helped to put me at ease.
Since coming back up to the ward with my baby, the midwives have been very supportive and they are excellent at communicating with us and answer any questions which we may have. You can also tell that they genuinely care about their patients and that midwifery is not just a job to them.
We have really appreciated the constant attention and genuine interest they have given us. Overall we have felt very well looked after, and we just want to thank everyone who has been part of this special time for us
"The midwives were absolutely brilliant!"
