"My son's procedure"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Paediatric surgery ( Wards 3A & 3B) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Theatres, recovery and Anesthetics Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Urology (Ward 3C)

(as a parent/guardian),

I can not thank the wonderful staff at the Queen Elizabeth kids hospital Glasgow enough for their overall attentive & care of my son in his bi lateral undescended testicles procedure today, From the anaesthetic team (Nicola & Alison) to the consultants Dr Amjab - specifically went over & above & ensured to keep me in the loop every step of the way, lovely bedside manner!

Angela who was extremely attentive, and the play assistant who again gave my son time & set up Xbox (most importantly for an 11yr old)

A great hospital experience from first referral to procedure, Of which my son will take away complete calm & already looking back as seamless. Each & every staff member we encountered went over to ensure his every need was catered for.

I am forever grateful & humbled by the care provided at the children’s hospital.

My youngest son has been attending Reno / urology clinics for 5years & has had several procedures - Again each have been handled catering to his every need, I am so thankful for this hospital not only for my three children but for my family & friends children - Great sense of team spirit, everyone in it together.

As the patient, the children are always treat with remarkable care - in my experience. As the parent reassured & kept updated. Uncomparable to the GRI child experience! 🤯

Dear LauraMcG,

I hope your son is doing well after his operation and is on the road to recovery. I would just like to take the time to thank you on behalf of the team at the RHC for taking the time to post on Care Opinion and share your experience whilst attending our hospital, it was a lovely post to read. It was great to hear that the anaesthetic team Nicola, Alison and Consultant Dr. Amjab went over and above to make sure you were well informed during your attendance with your son, and I will pass on your thanks to the team for which I am sure they will be delighted.

I am also glad the team were able to give your son an Xbox during the visit, as I appreciate how important that is for children and good we were able to accommodate.

Thank you for sharing your hospital journey from beginning to end and one which was a positive experience, and for which, more importantly we were able to give your son a calm and seamless visit.

I also hope your younger son is doing well, and lovely to hear whilst attending all his clinic appointments you have experienced the same care and attention from the teams.

We will share your post widely with the teams and your thanks, of which they will all appreciate and be delighted to read.

Many Thanks

Mandy
