"2 year old daughter with autism."

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

We had to make an emergency visit due to nursery being unsure if my daughter had swallowed a magnet or not.

When called in for the initial checks I informed the heath care assistant about my daughters needs and that she doesn’t understand, also that she may find it difficult and resit certain things that need carrying out.

The health care assistant was so understanding and amazing with my daughter. She interacted with her, was calm and my little girl even was happy to be held by her for a short time. This is the first time we have completed a heart rate check using her hands! We normally have to use her toes.

The experience in a Hospital can be very overwhelming for my daughter, especially being around unfamiliar people and having them touch her.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I really appreciate how we were treated especially my daughter.
