I had to take my son to accident and emergency on september last year after he tore his ligaments, initially we were ignored by the reception staff for 20 minutes while they had a discussion between themselves, eventually when i finally got their attention after waiting patiently the manner of the staff on duty was dismissive despite it being plainly ovbvious my son was in excruciating pain.
They then said they were too busy and my son should go home and take paracetamol! He was eventually seen the following morning after spending the night in agony and unable to sleep. Its now april and he is still waiting on an operation, his life and university course is now on hold until then and his mental health deteriorates by every passing day. I understand that these are unprecedented times for the nhs but when some frontline staff don't show compassion for people who are injured and ill we really are in dark times.
