About: Gleadless Medical Centre

Eventually got through after 40 minutes for an appointment to try and see a doctor only to be told i couldn't even get a phone call for a month never mind see a doctor ,having had a long term problem with a shoulder injury which was made worse after falling off a ladder i needed to see someone as i was in agony and unable to work and still am.do you need to see a physio i was asked I'm no doctor i just need to see someone or speak to someone.you can call the nurse in the morning but when it's full it's full so the conclusion is carry on in agony you can't speak to anyone except the receptionist you can't see anyone off you go. Being fully paid up with national insurance contributions I find it insulting to be told I can't speak to a doctor for a couple of minutes at most for a month. I know all about the covid pandemic but I'm afraid its wearing a bit thin

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review: I'm sorry to read your dissatisfaction in our service.

I can't comment on your medical condition on a social forum but you have made reference to a fall aggravating a shoulder injury. At the time you chose not to attend A+E or the minor unit injuries. This is something we would always recommend after an accident so that any damage can be identified at the earliest opportunity.

Routine calls are booked up for the next 3 weeks and this is an indication of the current level of demand on the practice. Routine calls are to discuss on going problems/long term conditions: non urgent matters.

Every day we provide a duty doctor and a minor conditions service to deal with urgent/same day matters.

I note on the day you posted this review you spoke to reception at 12.54pm and received a call back from the duty doctor at 3pm who gave you some advice, I hope that following the advice things have improved.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further please contact the practice.

Kind Regards

Tracey Johnson
