I have been diagnosed with multiple clots on the legs and lungs over the past year. My first leg clot was diagnosed in March 2021 with further clots diagnosed in February 2022 in my other leg and lungs. I received great care from the staff in A&E and ACU and would like to pass on my thanks.
I was referred to haematology by my GP for further investigation. To my disappointment this referral has been rejected and I remain unsure of the reason for this decision. As you can imagine, being diagnosed with multiple clots has been extremely worrying. I had hoped a referral to haematology would give me some insight into why I have been diagnosed with repeated clots. The appointment could have offered reassurance had I been given the chance to ask questions to a specialist consultant. I appreciate the additional pressures on all services within the NHS, however, I feel my health concerns warrant further investigation by a haematologist.
"Rejected for further haematology investigation"
