"Reassuring and supportive"

About: Maternity / Labour Ward

(as a service user),

I was admitted for 10 days prior to birth due to being high risk.  My anxiety was horrific but the staff at the labour ward were so reassuring and supportive throughout my stay. The diabetes team called down almost daily to check in with me,  in particular Michelle was so supportive.

After having my c section I struggled massively with pain relief and anxiety the staff on the ward were so helpful and reassured me and encouraged my recovery at my own pace. In particular a midwife who worked nightshift, Joanne, was a complete lifesaver for me.  As I felt I could not manage she encouraged and supported me through the night. She is a credit to the whole department and I will not forget how supportive she was during the 2 days post section. She also offered invaluable advice in regards to breastfeeding whilst in recovery.

Hi sambaww89

Thank you for sharing your story.

Great to hear that you were so well looked after by Labour Ward Team, Diabetes Team and Postnatal Team.

Our nursing and cleaning teams will really appreciate your positive feedback.

You are quite right that people like Joanne and Michelle are the lifeblood of the organisation and are so important to our patients.

Best wishes to you and your baby

Conor
