"Excellent and very professional care"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / High Dependancy Unit

(as a service user),

I was admitted to HDU at Dr Grays hospital following a heart attack the care provided was excellent and very professional. It came to me having to move off HDU to another ward and had to sit in day room to give my bed up. I am aware the hospital is busy but when I over heard a covid positive patient was coming into ward but I though Dr grays didn't have covid patients?

Dear indussy56

Thank you for sharing your story with us regarding the excellent and very professional care received in HDU during your admission. Your understanding about having to move areas within the hospital is appreciated and agreeing to sit in the day room to allow that to happen.

At the beginning of Covid, you are right in that Dr Gray's did not receive many positive patients. Since the pandemic has moved on and immunisation roll out has been successful we are able to care for patients with Covid at Dr Gray's unless they are critically ill and require specialty care.

I trust you are recovering well following your admission.

Take care

Diane
