Last week I went into labour in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, with my first baby. The service was exceptional and I wanted to take the time to thank the incredible staff that supported me through a tough time.
In particular, my two community midwives Julie & Sheila have been angels and have always made me feel comforted and supported throughout the process.
During the labour itself, I was supported by 2 amazing Midwives on Labour Ward - Kirby & Claire. They kept me calm, informed and cared for me through a scary experience of an emergency C section.
I also wanted to make particular mention of the 2 Anesthetists that performed my Epidural and C Section respectively. Emmanuel was patient, caring and understanding whilst performing the epidural. Eimear treated me with such amazing care, keeping me warm with hot towels throughout the procedure, reassuring me, going above and beyond with her support. She even took a set of pictures for us that we'll hold dear!
The aforementioned staff were so friendly and loving - I felt like I was going through the process with friends! I really hope they all get recognised for this as I can't stress enough how amazing they all were.
