"A spotless ward"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Stroke Care (Ward 3 Ramone) Loane House / Ward 2

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My care in Loane house has been okay. The nurses are always very good confident and make being here very easy. They put me in a side room which I am very grateful about as I enjoy the personal space and it means I get a bit of peace and quiet. The food here could be better, especially as I was transferred from Craigavon where the food was exceptional. I also notice that the portion sizes here are lacking a lot compared to Craigavon and there are times I am hungry throughout the day. I am impressed with how clean the place is as it is always spotless. I have no other issues and am grateful for my care.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond.

We always welcome feedback, this help make changes if needed and to feedback positive and negative aspects to our teams.

I am glad to hear that your care in Loane house has been okay, and that the nurses are confident and have made your stay in hospital easy. The team in Loane House work very hard to ensure that they provide you with a high quality of care.

Being a patient in hospital in the current circumstances may not always a pleasant experience, especially being away from your family, I will share with the team that your are grateful being able to enjoy the personal space and peace and quiet while you have been in hospital because you were in a side ward.

I am sorry to hear that the food in Loane house could be better, and that the portion sizes here are lacking. We are very aware of the importance of having a good balanced diet and how closely it is linked to your healing, well being and your rehabilitation. If you would like to ring me to give me issues and share your ideas I would love to hear them.

I will also discuss your concerns with the catering manager and I will ask the ward sisters to continue to get feedback from patients around meal choices.

I will also pass on your comments to our domestic team they work very hard to keep the ward clean to prevent any outbreak of infections. I will share that you are grateful for your care and your comments to the team.

I wish you a speedy recovery. If you would like to contact me to discuss anything else, please do

Many Thanks Sinead
