I recently had a bad fall while climbing and injured my knee, being unable to walk and in quite a lot of pain. After being driven to A&E I was put in a wheelchair and signed in by a very friendly member of staff and then after a short wait of only about 45 minutes I was looked at in minor injuries.
The nurse was kind and caring, as well as thorough and helpful. I was then taken through to radiology for an X-Ray, where the radiologist was professional and pleasant, and then taken back through to minor injuries where I was given crutches and referrals to the physio and knee clinic.
The only thing I would say is that the staff member who took me back to the A&E waiting room put me at the back of the room behind a lot of people, and as the wheelchair required pushing by someone else, I was a bit stuck and unable to go to the front and ask if I was going to get seen again as that hadn't been quite clear to me.
It would be good if I could have been put closer at the front (and anyone else struggling to walk) and then I could have maybe asked the receptionist, when I first arrived they specifically put me at the front to make it a bit easier to get me back into minor injuries as well. As it happens I was not waiting for long and all the care from staff was excellent.
"Good care at A&E"
