"Feel very blessed staff went extra mile"

About: Belfast City Hospital / Oncology

(as a service user),

I was an inpatient in B.C.G cancer centre, for approx; 10 weeks (2021). During my long stay I was treated with the utmost care and consideration.

In particular I would like to pay tribute to senior physio Bernie and her team. Bernie always greeted patients with a warm smile nothing was too much trouble for her and the team my rehabilitation (physiotherapy) progressed to the point where I was able to mobilise with a walking aid. I will never forget Bernie's kindness and patience during my recovery, her team always went the "extra mile" not only for me but all the patients I observed in her care. I am happy to write that I am now living independently in the community and no longer needs aid to mobilise, I feel very blessed.

Thank you for your lovely feedback for Bernie and the Physio team. They really do go the extra mile and lovely to hear staff living out our trust values. You have done so well with your rehab and the team will be delighted you are back living in the community and that they have played a part in helping to promote your independence.

Ann, Physio manager for specialist services
