"Urology Outpatients shown great care"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Urology( Ward 70)

(as a service user),

I attended for my regular bladder instillation today and just want to say how amazing Ann and her lovely student Amy were. It’s incredible to see such support and guidance for a student, for Amy to have hands on experience and key learning opportunities. As a nurse myself I know the importance of this. Student Nurse Amy (in her final year) showed compassion and care, she listened to me and quickly  built a therapeutic relationship with myself.

Everyone I’ve come across at urology outpatients at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary has shown excellent care and compassion but I just wanted to highlight Amy and Ann who made my experience this morning so much better and showed the true meaning of compassionate care and excellent communication skills. Thank you both.

Dear missbex7

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of using the Urology Department of the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

It was great to hear your wonderful praise of Ann and student nurse Amy. It was very touching to hear how Ann is providing guidance and support to Amy in her final year and this is being noticed by patients such as yourself, especially when they are also in the profession.

I'm glad all the members of staff you encountered were compassionate, friendly and your expectations were met throughout.

I will be delighted to pass on your thanks to Ann, Amy and the staff at the Urology Department who I'm sure will be touched to hear your comments.

Kind regards

Kevin
