I attended A&E in Feb 22 with my young son who was sent by NHS 24 after ingesting some cream which made him sick.
My son is Autistic and very busy places and having to wait patiently can be a huge struggle for him.
All staff were amazing with him, from first contact at reception, to the triage nurse and finally the lovely doctor who assessed him.
The department was very very busy, however we were able after speaking to the triage nurse to sit in a quieter area as he was not coping with the busier area. This was really appreciated.
He was treated respectfully by all staff who were part of his care and they spoke to him directly and were very kind and understanding of his traits.
We thankfully did not have too long a wait in the department and he was allowed home with advice and a thorough explanation of symptoms to look out for.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and patience shown during this very challenging time for all staff in the NHS
