"Receiving CBT treatment"

About: Borders Community Services / Wellbeing Service

(as a service user),

My mother passed away in March 2021 from breast cancer. The weeks and months that followed were extremely difficult and I had been struggling with depression, anxiety, panic attacks and grief. I had always been someone who struggled with anxiety however since my mum's diagnosis in early March 2020 it got a lot worse.

Since receiving help from the Wellbeing Service and learning about CBT, my mood has got a lot better and my panic attacks are easier to deal with. I am able to cope better in anxious situations now that I know the correct techniques to use.

My advisor, Karen, was a huge help. She listened to me, reassured me and helped me learn some very useful techniques that I have been able to put into practice since completing the course. I can’t recommend her enough.
