"Care in her own surroundings"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Hospital at Home

(as a service user),

Been going to GP for while looking for revaluation of meds etc , which had not happened, then mum took not well, GP gave 2 courses antibiotics and steroids,  which never worked.

Wow i can't say anything else other than,, angels appeared in the form of hospital at home , the first day possibly 1 hour or less apart I had a nurse then sister kerry, mum didnt want to worry me so been hiding aches etc including lump on neck, but the exam that she received that day, well i worked in a hospital for 10 yrs , and these hospital home angels deserve medals, professional,  compassionate,  understanding, and so good with her. I've only met some of these nurses, they have done full medical xrays ct scans bloods regular bladder scans, changed meds the works, mum feels so much more settled mentally and absolutely adores them

I think this service is valuable to nhs, and I also think it would be good to put some information out there to allow people to know about this service. My mum doesn't want to go into hospital so this is an amazing service, helps her not suffer yet still in her own surroundings,  I'd like to thank personally Dr and staff who been involved in mums care

Dear AnnieG01

Thank you for taking the time to contact us via Care Opinion with such lovely comments about our team.

I am sorry to hear about your mum being poorly, these situations are always so difficult for families, I am just glad that our team could be there to help you when you and your mum needed us most. Its wonderful to hear that the service were able to help your mum and keep her in her own home, as that is such an important aspect of recovery for many of our patients.

Our team work so hard to deliver the best patient centered care that they can in the patients own home, and it is lovely to see this recognised. I will ensure your lovely message of thanks is passed on to the whole team, I know they will enjoy reading it as much as I have.

Our best wishes to you and your mum

Hazel
