"Use of mental health service at Shannon ward"

About: Barnet, Enfield And Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as a service user),

In my opinion the staffs do not even understand what is mental illness. I feel  clinicians and member of staffs are, patronizing and unprofessional. I have seen a lot of what I believe is misconducts such as mistreatment of patients. For example, using inappropriate levels of force and rude comments. I feel like that I have been neglected and ignored.  

Health care services need to be accountable. In my opinion all they have are excuses. There should be independent "over-lookers" visiting weekly/monthly, speaking to patients. Patients are the end-uses and should be involved when it comes to improvements. 

I am appalled by my mistreatment, but, this is only possible because of what I believe is a lack of accountability. When health care services are in the wrong, it only results in a little reshuffling of staffs and a statement like we have taken on board the criticism and ensure events are not repeated. Same old blather.
