"Poor service"

About: Thornton Surgery

I suffer from a thyroid condition. I have gone from being told (by different doctors) I need a blood test 3/4 times a year to once. I have to order a repeat prescription every month now instead of every three. This in itself, although inconvenient, is manageable. However, I order my prescription two weeks before needed as one week isn’t long enough. Sometimes, there isn’t a doctor at the practice to sign off the prescription. Sometimes the prescription isn’t sent to the chemist within the 48 hour time slot. Somehow, the fact my prescription is late or not ready is the fault of the chemist! I have tried to order a prescription through NHS app but the practice does not facilitate this service. There are two very good receptionists who are patient and have a very helpful attitude. There are two receptionists who are quite the opposite - I actually try to avoid these two receptionists as I personally find their professionalism appalling. Given my age and health I don’t require to see the doctor that often. However, when I do (or I try to make an appointment for my children), the performance is ridiculous and an appointment often ends up being made to be seen by a doctor at the walk-in surgery. There is no consistency of doctors so I have no continuity of care. This, and the other issues mentioned, leads to a complete lack of confidence in the practice.
