I went into A & E on a Friday afternoon with chest pains, which they were not sure whether it was a Heart Attack.
Because I have a pacemaker they should have done a blood test to check the emzines in my blood which would give them an idea.....this was not done!
They wanted to keep me in so I could see a Cardiologist but it meant I was admitted all through the weekend because they dont have any until Monday.
The duty doctor gave me a combination of tablets and when I woke on Saturday I was totally deaf.
The Doctor in charge on Saturday said that the deafness will wear off over a period of time......its now 2 1/2 weeks later and I am still deaf. Obviously when I stand I am dizzy and when I try to walk I fall over.
They promised that they would get someone in EN&T to see me within 7 days but I would have to be discharged as they dont visit the wards.
They discharged me in a very bad state, as when I originally came to the hospital I drove, now I cant even think of driving because of the dizziness and balance issues.
Whilst in Sandford ward a person was going out of the ward and meeting with people. When I woke up the following morning he was no longer in the ward and the cleaning staff was cleaning his bay.
No one said anything but when I got home I did a lateral flow test and it registered positive for COVID and 2 days later my partner also proved positive.
We have shielded for the last 20 months, not going out and going without things to stay safe and a stay in hospital gives you Covid.....Thank you Weston Hospital
I was told to register a complaint through the proper channels, which I have done, but some 10 days later no one has got in touch.
Due to the inadequacies, mistakes, poor service and lack of anyone listening, we have made a decision to sell our property here in Weston, and move to a town/city that can offer a better hospital(24 hours A & E to start) as I fear for the consequences of another stay in Weston hospital.
