"Crew member was rude"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

86 year old mother with a previous history of biliary sepsis leading to her almost losing her life on the last occasion developed symptoms that I recognised could be the beginning of another episode. Ambulance was called, on arrival one of the crew members was rude and suggested that we had called the ambulance for social care reasons. My mother is looked after at home with no care package and family input only, she is well looked after and being a trained nurse of 47 years myself would never dream of calling an ambulance for this reason. Left us shocked.
