I was told by the Consultant Ophthalmologist that I needed eye injections for my eye condition.
I was very, very nervous about this and did nothing but worry from the moment I was told this up until I received my injection. I attended on the day for my injection feeling very apprehensive. I shouldn’t have been.
The team are just fantastic!! From the moment I was called in, I was treated with the upmost care and respect. I want to say in particular a massive thank you to my injector Victoria and the nurse, Helen. I also want to say thanks to the other nurse who gave me my lovely blue ‘bunnet’ and chatted with me before my injection but apologies as I can’t remember her name - I was so nervous! Victoria was very thorough but also so kind. She explained to me what was going to happen and asked me if I had any questions. Her and Helen made sure I was comfortable before the injection began and they kept me calm throughout and it was made sure I didn’t feel the procedure - it was totally painless! Helen even offered to hold my hand. They made me feel so at ease and I’m now no longer worried about attending for further injections. A huge thanks to the wonderful staff in the injection team at Hairmyres Hospital - you are a real asset to the NHS.
