Was just reading through the reviews for Perth midwife unit and realised that we have faced all the challenges mentioned in the negative feedback and non from the positive ones. So, am sharing my story for my wife's on going pregnancy care. To start with, didn't received our midwife appointment until 11 weeks, even after regular reminders. We were appointment a midwife only after I sent a email to NHS Tayside informing them about the issue. During our appointments we felt that we are being rushed and untill the recent appointments, the only thing we understood was, wife has to give her blood and urine samples and get her BP checked. There was no descent consultation provided. The scan and Dr appointments were great as we were provided with proper explaining throughout the process. In the recent two appointments our midwife was not around so we're attended by a different midwife, who were bit more relaxed and provided the explaination. My wife is now 30 week pregnant, and recent scans have raised concerns on the growth of the baby. The gestational diabetes test and the additional scans were recently booked for her, but only after we requested for it. Our regular midwife doesn't bother to feed in the test result on the badger note app neither does she provide any feedback over phone. So, every time we see a different midwife we need to explain everything from scratch to them. Although, they have been kind enough to listen and provide descent consultation. We have recently relocated to Perth and this is our first child so, neither of us has any experience. Since, we always have to remind our midwife for arranging our tests and appointment, we have this constant fear that we may be missing out on something plus, there is no clarity or guidances provided to us, considering this is our first child.
Having experience of receiving medical care in different NHS's around the UK, this one is the worst when we needed it the most. Just hoping to receive the best care while wife is in labor and probably afterwards.
