"Amazing service"

About: Midlothian Community Hospital / Hospital @ Home (Midlothian) NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a service user),

Constant urine and Diarrhoea, Phoned 111 (answered 1/2 hour)  excellent calm person who explained how she would phone back.

Doctor advised go to community hospital.

Took sample - very thorough talk with doc who gave antibiotic.

Hospital at home - very calm, confident and helpful and took every test possilbe. Next day to get x-ray at hospital/ all organised visited to tell of results, more checks.

Discharged after 5 days to the care of own doctor ( this team were a bit flippant, probably because I was so much better) I thought they might have asked about the next steps although the doctor will get a report.

This is an amazing service and reassuring for many of my age.

Dear velahg99

I hope your recovery is continuing and you feel so much better. It sounds as though you’ve been through a bit of a tough time with unpleasant symptoms. I wish you well.

It’s kind of you to take the time to post feedback on Care Opinion. Such positive comments are fantastic for staff to see. Many of our staff here at NHS 24 read our Care Opinion stories, therefore I am sure they will be delighted to know you are doing well. I see you waited a wee while for your call to NHS 24 to be answered. I am sorry if this caused you any frustration. I’m so pleased however that when you got through, we arranged for you to have onward care.

If you want to tell me more about your actual call to NHS 24, then it would be good to hear from you. You can call me on 07814 299944 or email Patient.Experience@nhs24.cot.nhs.uk

Take care meantime and be good to yourself to ensure you have the best chance of a full recovery.

Kind regards

Shona
