"Dedicated care and support of my father by the district nursing team"

About: District Nursing / Strabane

(as a service user),

I just want to thank the nurses and care workers from the Donemana district nursing team for all the care and attention given to my father on his last few days following his discharge home from hospital. They were fantastic, a real demonstration of the dedication afforded to patients and their families.

This was such a devastating time in our lives, the carers were in 4 times a day and the nurses could have been in a couple of times and if not, they were always at the end of the phone, they all became a cherished part of our family and I cannot imagine how we could have coped without them. Nothing was ever a bother and we know Claire was kept late a couple of evenings sorting his pain relief.

Louise on the Friday made a referral to Marie Curie and we had the support from this amazing team for the next 3 nights until his passing.

The support, care and attention my dad and our family received from this team gives me a renewed appreciation of the hard work and dedication of our district nursing service which quite often goes unseen.

Thank you all so much.
