I recently developed symptoms of a gastric nature, when they turned very bad indeed. I was incredibly nauseous and in a lot of pain. I had never experienced anything like it before and started to worry something was very wrong. It was a very busy Saturday night for the ambulance service so there was an understandable wait. The paramedics were wonderful, very thorough and also kind/sympathetic. The decision was made to give me meds and take me to the emergency department for a check over. Every effort was made to make me feel comfortable in the ambulance and calm. (I suffer from agoraphobia). I was promptly looked after and tested by three lovely nurses upon arrival, then seen by an equally pleasant doctor in the ambulance, where I was examined/given fluids/ and ultimately the all-clear. By this time I felt just about well enough to taxi home. I cannot fault any of the staff who looked after me, and not at any point was I made to feel like; 'Why are you here it's just a tummy bug'? Even the security staff were eager to help me phone a taxi! Thank you all so much for looking after me on a busy Saturday night/Sunday morning, when services are so stretched down here already. Truly admirable.
"Thank you so much!"
