"Call to NHS 24 and care at ADOC and Ayr A&E"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran NHS 24 University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency University Hospital Ayr / X-rays and Scans

(as a relative),

Called NHS 24 on behalf of my wife on Saturday morning about 8:30 and the call was answered within 5 minutes. Casey, the call handler and Paul the clinician were outstanding, listening and advising next steps. Referral to ADOC and the doctor was very thorough- although my wife did comment that when she conducted the reflex test on her knee, the doctor could have been a little more gentle!

Referred for an X-ray to A&E and again staff and the doctor were empathetic and supportive.

Thanks to everyone.

Hi statuspm68

Thank you so much for contacting Care Opinion. I hope your wife’s x-ray didn’t show up anything untoward and she is doing much better.

It’s great to receive such positive feedback which shows excellent person-centred seamless care. A five minute wait for your call to NHS 24 to be answered on a busy Saturday morning is a great service. I’m so pleased Casey and Paul were outstanding by listening and arranging appropriate onward care for your wife. Our colleagues within NHS Ayrshire & Arran sound fantastic too – I’m sure the Doctor who carried out the reflex test was just being thorough!

I hope you don’t mind me commenting that I recognise the name used to tag your Care Opinion story. Therefore, I will be able to share you kind comments directly with Casey and Paul. I'm sure they will be delighted to receive your feedback.

Thanks again and best wishes to you both.

Kind regards

Shona
