I had a transperineal precision prostrate biopsy under general anaesthetic. The procedure was carried out at Queen Margaret Hospital's Day Surgery Unit.
All aspects of the visit and procedure were carried out in a timeous, professional and caring manner.
The surgeon explained, in detail, the procedure, why I was having it carried out and the options available to me following the results of the biopsy were known. She also explained the possible side effects following the procedure and asked if I had any question I my have.
The anaesthetist was extremely thorough looking over my past medical history and explaining how these may effect this procedure , After further investigation into my medical history she concluded, and taking account of my preferences, that a general anaesthetic was suitable for this procedure.
All the nursing staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional having an excellent knowledge of may procedure.
All in all, this was an extremely relaxed experience given the nature of this biopsy. My thanks go to all the staff involved.
"An extremely relaxed experience"
