A relative of mine was a patient in ward 309 at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I visited her while she was a patient and then picked her up when she was discharged. On the three occasions that I was on the ward I was concerned by the staffs use of face masks as several appeared to be wearing them incorrectly. As elective surgery patients have to have negative PCR tests for the surgery to go ahead it a waste of resources and is putting patients at risk when the masks staff are wearing often barely cover their mouths. My relative refused to let me say anything while she was still a patient as she felt it would negatively impact the care she was receiving. She also mentioned that she felt that some of the trained nurse who were meant to be looking after her were uninterested and only appeared when pressured by others to provide pain killers.
