"Maternity triage experience"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care

(as a service user),

I just wanted to say thank you all the staff that looked after me during my admission. The midwives, doctors, porters and radiology staff were amazing and done such a fantastic job of looking after me throughout my stay.

However this post is mainly to give recognition to my midwife Emily (I’m sure I checked your badge 10000 times to made sure I got her name right!) after a surprising positive PCR test I was extremely upset, anxious and worried about not only my health but also my baby’s and the care, compassion and mental/emotional support I received from Emily was way beyond what I could’ve ever expected. I was never treated “infectious”, I was checked on all the time, even to talk to me when I was anxious and extra checks on my baby.

I will never forget the care you gave me and your calming words have continued with me since I’m home and recovering.

Thank you one million times Emily, you are a credit to the team at Wishaw Maternity and I hope we cross paths again (in nicer circumstances!!)

Dear Lst21,

Many thanks for taking the time to write feedback. Im delighted to learn you had a positive experience looked after by a range of the team in Wishaw. I will ensure the team see see your feedback. I can only imagine the worry you went through at receiving a positive COVID test. I am delighted to read you were supported during this time of worry. We are very lucky to have a brilliant midwife like Emily. We often receive compliments on her compassionate and caring approach with all who she looks after. I will send on your feedback.

Take care

Cheryl
