"Behavioural Psychology in Forth Valley saved my life!"

After a series of traumatic life experiences nested on top of each other from age 12 through 38, I finally sought real help. I was referred to Behavioural Psychology by my GP - Dr. Murdoch -  for a mixture of EMDR and talk counselling. 

I lost my job, my life was falling apart around me, and I felt like there was nowhere left to turn and no more road left to travel. Being paired up with Kathleen, based in Stirling and Larbert, for EMDR and counselling changed everything. 

Even with the pandemic hitting just two months after beginning treatment with Kathleen and Dr. Murdoch, I never felt abandoned or left alone. After two years of the most amazing care and treatment, I was discharged from treatment in December 2021 . In the space of time between meeting Kathleen and being discharged, I went from my lowest ever ebb - jobless, hopeless, unable to function on a day-to-day basis, and inches away from taking my own life on a regular basis - to the point where I am now halfway through training for a brand new professional career, and learning to find my way back into an external life, with healthier attitudes to myself and the world around me. 

Without the help and care of Kathleen, Dr. Murdoch and everyone at Behavioural Psychology in Larbert and my Medical Centre, I dread to think where I would be right now. I'm so grateful for everything, and wish I could tell everyone and anyone in the same situation as myself to reach out and seek help when things are too much to deal with. These amazing people have saved my life, and given me the facilities and abilities to see ways forward and change my entire direction. For that, I'm eternally grateful.
