Anything else?
I was instructed by Chelmsford walk in centre to attend Broomfield A & E dept with a suspected ruptured achilles tendon, having heard many horror stories of A & e departments i was not filled with any great hope of decent treatment - which shows how wrong you can be, the service i rec'd from reception, nursing staff and consultants was first class, i was kept informed of what was occuring and offered a choice of treatments, the whole thing did take 5 hours but the staff are working very hard, i cannot praise them enough.
following this i have had a follow trip (the first of many) to the frature clinic which as mentioned by others is a long way from the entrance when your on your own with crutches, my appointment was for 3.30pm and i did not get away until 7.00pm but i was informed of a long delay due to a rush in A & E and given the chance to make a new appointment (this was on 15th march) again everyone i dealt with very helpful espacially the team doing the casts who had a very long day.
to sum up don't believe all the stuff you read about poor treatment the staff i have dealt with have been fantastic and made me feel cared for whilst its never a nice experience to go to hospital it helps when your treated well.
