"Pre op admin staff"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Pre-Op Assessments

(as a service user),

I have been waiting for my second knee replacement for a while now which is understandable due to covid.  I had all of my pre op assessments completed in August 2021 unfortunately my blood samples have now expired before getting the operation. I was booked into have them repeated however I have tested positive for covid. When I called to rearrange I spoke to a staff member who I felt was quite rude and said this was my last chance to reschedule.  I have had to check dates with my daughter as she works in the NHS and only has certain days off to be able to take me all the way to Glasgow from West Lothian. I am really upset at the way I was spoken to and threatened that I would not be able to get it done . Everyone else at the jubilee has been amazing

Dear WLpatient,

Thank you for your post on Care Opinion. I am so sorry for the experience that you have had with us. I would like to be able to investigate this further with the relevant manager to allow us to learn from your experience. The telephone call you had with one of our staff is not the manner we would expect any of our staff to be speaking to patients. I would be pleased if you could call me on 0141 951 5951, alternatively email feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk with your name and date of birth.

Again, I am very sorry for the upset caused.

Regards

Paula
