"The whole team deserve a medal"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Oncology unit

(as the patient),

Hi all,

I am now at the stage that I am having chemotherapy both I.V. and in tablet form.  I have had 2 treatments out of 4. My next one is this Friday I hope,  as it should have been last Friday but my white blood cell count was too low to proceed which was a bit of a downer I can tell you.

I must take this time to praise the oncology team, Mrs. Rodger’s consultant oncologist, Dr. Mallik oncologist and the ward team led by Paula charge nurse, Paula and Gosha staff nurses, and the rest of the oncology team.

The I.V. treatment takes a lot out of me and the 10 per day for 15 days is sometime hard to take but it’s all for my benefit and hopefully a full recovery although it’s always in the back of your mind!!

But I shouldn’t complain there are a lot of people worse off than me at least I can see the finishing line?

So thanks once again to the medical team and my surgeon Mr Kynaston, the stoma team led by Jenny, and now the oncology team who I couldn’t or wouldn’t say a bad word about them the whole team deserve a medal in the way they treat you and the aftercare you get. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

Dear Papa John,

I would like to thank you on behalf of the Oncology and specialist nurse team for your positive feedback. I hope you are managing with the challenges that treatment brings, it can be difficult to not think about the negatives when you are feeling low, though it sounds like you are focusing on the positives to get you through this difficult time.

I will be delighted to forward your message to all of the team, Dr Rogers, Dr Mallick, Mr Kynaston, Jenny and the stoma team, Paula and the chemotherapy team along with all the others who have been involved in your journey, they all work together to ensure that the care delivered is of the highest standard and I am sure they would all like to thank you for your kind words and wish you all the very best on the final two treatments and recovery time.

Wishing you all the best

Susan
