"Lack of care and compassion"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Elderly Medicine (wards 2a, 2c, 6a, 6c, 8a & 8c)

(as a relative),

The way some members of staff 4c at Gartnaval hospital, especially the charge nurse who dealt with the care of elderly patients, was absolutely horrendous. The lack of care and compassion and the way elderly patients were handled I found to be disgraceful.  They spoke badly of the patients and care and compassion appeared to be out the window. Patients who were at risk of falls were left alone.

It seems empathy and compassion have gone out of the window .  There were some staff who went above and beyond and I think they tried to pull the standards of the poor management above them.  The ward manager was very professional but not the charge nurse.
