"Please pass my appreciation on"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Queen Margaret Hospital / Out-of-Hours

(as a service user),

Having been terribly messed around by my medical practice resulting in me becoming very unwell, I had to call NHS24 as I felt my condition was deteriorating again quite quickly.

My wait time was only around 15 minutes or so and the call handler was absolutely brilliant. At last I felt supported. He explained everything so clearly and was very empathic. The nurse I was then transferred to was also absolutely excellent, supportive and caring.

She explained clearly to me the process and that a doctor would call me. This happened only a short time later and again, I cannot praise the doctor I spoke with enough. Absolutely brilliant and so caring. Arrangements were made for me to attend out of hours to be assessed which I duly did.

The staff at out of hours were also brilliant in particular the nurse who assessed me and who used her experience and good judgement to plead a case to have me admitted. I hope this nurse can be advised of my thoughts on her actions, she went above and beyond her duties.

Thankfully I was admitted to hospital and I am making a good recovery, only now I realize how ill I really was and very badly dehydrated. I hope my appreciation for the employees mentioned in this post, as well as the team in the ward I'm in , can be passed onto them. True angels
