I had a total hip replacement at The Spire Hospital, Norwich and there is a culture of care and friendliness throughout every department.
My orthopaedic consultant was attentive to all my questions and gave me straightforward advice and recommendations. He had a friendly manner,an excellent knowledge of the hip joint and good communication skills all of which inspired confidence. I had already researched that he was a very experienced and competent surgeon.
My admission went smoothly and I was visited by my consultant and the anaesthetist prior to surgery to reassure me that I would be in safe hands. Later that afternoon they both visited me in my room to inform me that all had gone well.
I cannot speak too highly of the staff on Lavender Ward who were knowledgeable, polite and extremely helpful. The Dr and nurses cared for me with kindness and sensitivity ensuring that I was as comfortable as possible.
The three physiotherapists were very patient and understanding when teaching me how to walk using crutches. X-rays were quick and professional. Nothing was too much effort for anyone and the cheerful, smiling catering ladies brightened up the day. The support staff, cleaners and porters were helpful in performing extra tasks such as charging my mobile phone.
The whole experience was a positive one and I cannot thank the whole team enough for their dedication and attention to detail. I would certainly recommend The Spire Hospital, Norwich.
