"Patronising and unutilised place"

About: Kirkholt Medical Practice

I visited practice on a couple of occasions, for me and for both of my daughters. Every time I went there I was patronised by reception staff, which by the way is the only staff you would find there. On the question to see a doctor or at least a nurse, I've been told that they are rarely there. The patronising staff member was implying that I will need an interpreter. I politely refused, explaining that I have been in this country for almost 20 years and I finished University here, for which I had to pass an equivalent for an A level English exam with an A as a result. My visit was to have a smear test, but after waiting 45 minutes for my visit - I was the only person there I was explained by the nurse that this was a clerical error and I'm not due for the test for another 6 months. I wasted half a day holiday and 45 min to just find out that.

I went there with my older daughter to print out her full vaccination record needed to University to study dentistry. We had to explain at least four times why we need a full vaccination record. The reception staff member was very unwilling to help, saying that she never heard about someone needing a full vaccination record and she won't print it out for us. She was constantly trying to tell us that we can get a Covid vaccination record from the app and we were explaining again and again that we need a full vaccination record and why we need it. We showed her an email and the letter from University that said this is a compulsory document that need to be submitted before University will start. She printed it out on the end, she was very unhappy and borderline rude that she needed to do it.

I had a pretty bad experience visiting the practice for medical reasons with my younger daughter. On the visit with her GP, we've been told that her health issue was nothing to be concerned about and we need to wait for another six weeks if things won't improve to make another appointment. To me the situation was urgent and after our concerns were ignored with our GP we end up visiting a private practice later that day. Private practice has done the blood test straight away, confirming my worries and saying that this was an urgent matter and should be addressed straight away.

So this is/was my family and I, experience with the practice. I will never willingly go there again as I feel this will be just a waste of time. There is that huge building that is completely unutilised, staying empty, with the exception of patronising reception staff members. Even though you sometimes get through them and get the appointment it happened to be a complete waste of time for me and my daughter. There are two GP practises on Kirkholt. One is a new huge building, always empty with the exception of the rude reception staff, the other is a small garage-like building. Those places should get combined into one, fewer utility bills to pay, less admin cost etc.

Why someone decided to keep both of them is beyond me.
