What I liked

Infection control - great improvement; alco-gel at entry points.

Ward clerk - very efficient, polite, courteous in spite of being harassed from all points of the compass!

What could be improved

Cleanliness - very dusty. Cleaning of overhead rails done at a distance using a duster which showers the surrounding area. What is in the dust? What happened to damp cloths and disinfectant?

Entry in the telephone book. 'See our block advert' - no block advert!

Website - include department telephone numbers or an easy link to departmental telephone directory say, for instance, Outpatient Appointments by department, ward telephone numbers etc.

'Why were you at this hospital?' - Limited to a single field: Patient, Friend or Staff. Should be able to select more than one.

Staffing levels - two trained (one registered and one HCA) for a ward of 30?! Disgraceful! The CEO should have been called in to witness the lack of staff and make a decision to pay bank staff to attend as the authority to spend appeared to have been removed from anyone else!

Why do theatre staff have to change from 'scrubs', go to the canteen for tea / coffee, return, use another set of scrubs twice a day? Why not give them tea and coffee gratis? When British Airways made cut backs to turn a profit they didn't stop tea and coffe for cabin crew did they? No, they sacked 600 superfluous managerial and admin staff!

'info@phnt.swest.nhs.uk' repeatedly returns email as 'delivery refused'. Why?

Outmoded unreliable steam powered sterilisation unit. Badly needs upgrade / proper maintenance or replacement with a micro wave unit.
