"Excellent care"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as a service user),

I recently gave birth at the Midwives unit in 2021, i felt at ease from the moment i walked through the door, initially being looked after by Midwives Lauren and then onto midwife Katy who supported me with an amazing water birth experience. I initially had to wait for the pool to be available but the midwives made this possible which will always be appreciated. I couldn't remember the midwife assistants names but they made sure my husband was topped up with coffee and supported me with breast feeding after wards. Thank you all so very much for our positive experience and we will be eternally grateful for all you did.

Dear Hap92,

How lovely to hear you had an amazing water birth experience.

The team in the Midwives Unit work very hard to ensure the birthing pool is available to as many women as possible. Lauren and Katie will be delighted you felt at ease during your stay.

The healthcare support workers are very passionate about supporting breastfeeding and they make the best cups of coffee.

Thank you for sharing your experience which I will share with the team.

Wishing you every happiness in the future.
