Anything else?
Have just found this site but it gives me an opportunity to thank the Hammersmith A & E staff for their treatment back in August 2011. I came to the A&E by ambulance and was treated quickly and effectively by the medical staff, receiving an immediate blood transfusion which saved my life. Two Drs treated me. Both have probably moved on by now but both were fantastic. I was then treated overnight by two outstanding nurses on the Victor Bonney ward. I returned to the hospital a month later for successful surgery by a consultant, again receiving excellent medical treatment.
My only criticism would be the lack of ward staff at weekends - patients can feel a little abandoned. And the food is pretty terrible. Patients can do without the goat stew to be honest and just have less choice and better quality. Also if you are away from your bed for any reason and the staff taking food orders go past, you miss ordering and go hungry. They need to return to any empty beds to make sure that everybody is fed.
I owe a huge debt of thanks to Hammersmith Hospital A and E and Victor Bonney ward.
