Booked in for a Monday morning, but no beds available until late afternoon. Staff most apologetic as list had got confused. However, once allocated bed had great attention and consideration from surgeon and nursing staff for operation the next day to sort out my colon cancer. Intensive care was more than good, even though out of it for most of the time, but this part of the process (if required)is key to getting back to normal. Once back on Ward it was clean and very good. Tea trolley could do with looking at as beverages were not very good. With continual shift changes for nurses it was not always easy for them to become familiar with ones own case, or progress, although it was not that much of a problem.
Consultants rounds in morning had different people in most days, so did not always feel continuity was maintained.
Sleeping at night not always good due to noise, not from patients, but from nursing stations and staff who are not always observant that patients need their sleep. Recommend taking some ear plugs if having to stay in. They definetely help, believe me.
