"Feeling ignored"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Urology

(as a service user),

I had a telephone appointment with the nephrologist at the renal unit.  I tried to speak about my kidney pain for the very first time and they kept interrupting me, rushing me.  I also mentioned that I get daily back pain for which they totally ignored and did not say anything. They did not seem interested in my symptoms at all, therefore I was unable explain my pain in detail, as I kept being stopped.  I could not also let them know about other symptoms I get related to my condition.

They asked if I had any problems only to do with infections but did not ask about my high blood pressure once. This consultation has left me feeling so depressed that I neglected to take my blood pressure medication.
