"Stroke Care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Medicine for the Older Adult (wards 13 - 16)

(as a relative),

My mum and family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Scottish Ambulance Service, A&E Hairmyres and Ward 14 Hairmyres. Mum was transferred to Hairmyres following a significant stroke. The emergency care allowed mum to receive clot busting treatment within 2 hours which gave her the chance of the best possible outcome. The MDT within ward 14 were amazing and cared for mum so incredibly well. They also provided excellent support to my dad and us as a family in shock and disbelief. The care and compassion shown was outstanding. My mum has made an incredible recovery and is now home with her husband. Words can’t express what a fantastic job you do every day under incredibly difficult circumstances.

Thank you

Dear octoberhh35

Thank you so much for getting in touch with your Feedback. I am so sorry to read about your mum suffering a stroke, this must have been such a worrying time for her and all her family. I am so delighted to read mum received treatment in good time and has gone on to make such a remarkable recovery. This is such wonderful news.

If you would like me to pass on your thanks to our crew, I can certainly arrange that for you. All I would need is for your mum's name, address and date of when we attended. If you would like me to do this, please may I ask you contact our team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot and if you could be so kind to make reference to your care opinion username, this will help us easily link to your story.

Thank you once again and all the very best to you and your mum

Lesley
